OFF THE GRID

I don't know about any of you, but my friends are all getting engaged seemingly at the same time and I am so excited for all of them. It definitely calls for lots of celebration! Finding the right place to shower your newly-engaged friends and family with congratulations can be tough, so I made a handy guide for Chicago locals and out-of-town planners! Here are the the top 5 places to celebrate an engagement in Chicago:

RM Champagne, 116 N Green

Good for the intimate celebration. This cute little french champagne bar only serves desserts (not a problem here!). I've only been there during the winter time, but they have an adorable outdoor patio that I can't wait to enjoy. I was there this weekend and the weather was just a tad to chilly for outdoor seating!

Pops For Champagne, 601 N State

This place is great for variety, there are options for those who want to choose from over 100 different champagnes or those who want a fancy cocktail. This is definitely a place where you need to plan ahead, especially if you are going on a Friday or Saturday night. Unless you are lucky, you will most likely be standing. Fear not! They take reservations of parties of more than 8. Added bonus, this place it pretty centrally located so you can pop over after work!

Quartino, 626 N State

Where the wine is cheaper than water, this is a good place for the budget friendly!  They have a nice upstairs bar that you can rent out for a larger party. If you would be dining, they do a pretty great job acommodating large groups! Right across the street from Pops, this place is also centrally located.

Pump Room, 1301 N State

You know I am a sucker for a place with rich history. The restaurant opened originally in 1938, and it referenced in Frank Sinatra's My Kind Of Town! I got kind of lost in their website, because their main page is a punch of old photos of celebs at Pump Room over the years. They can host a larger celebration, with a private dinning room that can accomidate 26 seated guests or 40 guests reception style! Definitely a fancier options, but you are celebrating after all!

Lux Bar, 18 E Bellevue

Plenty of places to party here! I was recently at an engagement party where half the upstairs was rented out and it was wonderful and bright! If you have a smaller party, you can always grab a high top by the bar and grab some bubbly from their decent champagne selection.
